New unfinished maple cabinetry with laminate counter top as well as a butcher-block top on the island cabinetry was the foundation for this kitchen. The appliances and plumbing didn't move, just new fixtures and new cook top and oven helped keep the costs minimal. New lighting was done when the plaster ceiling was taken down and replaced with a new drywall ceiling. The owner painted and wallpapered herself.
